frammenti is my little playground, where I can give a little insight into my creative world.
frammenti is a little word game in italian. It can both be read as a single word “frammenti”, which means fragments, or it can be separated into two words “fra menti”, which means “between minds”
fragments – I believe we all in some way are inspired and shaped by small fragments of life around and within us. Colours, shapes, sounds, smells, movements, a smile, the sparkle in someone’s eye, as well as sensations, moods and ambience.
between minds – I believe as well, that inspiration and creativity grows into something greater and even more beautiful when we people’s thoughts connect.
I therefore try in my work to capture the fragments of my world in an either abstract or figurative way, combining materials and techniques. Even more than that, I love motivating others, particularly kids, to be creative.
about me
I am Ilaria Mastrogiovanni. Italian, but born and raised in Switzerland, where I have been working as a teacher in arts and crafts for ten years. Since 2004 I have lived in Denmark, where I’ve got the chance to do creative activities with children between 9 and 14 years old.
I love to draw and paint, experimenting with different media, sewing, but what I really love is to encourage others – especially the young generation – to be creative.
With the frammenti website I aim to create a platform on which I both can present my own creations, but also promote creative courses, workshops and events.
